Where is your riding crew based out of? I ride with male wakeskaters, local riders and some cable operators. Most people I knew from the cable rides wakeboard.
What is your favourite thing about wakeskating? It definitely takes away my stress. Running over rails when my board decided pop away from my feet Lol! Most men under estimates women’s capabilities, through wakeskating I was able to proved them wrong and exceeded their expectations.
Whats something unique about wakeskating in your country? Coz our cable is still new, almost every thing are still unique. Most Filipino riders are enjoying the privilege of being one of the pioneers of this sport. Right now, I’m the only female who’s really pushing wakeskating.
We have a world class cable park with the cheapest rate. We have a full support from our own governor. We get to ride with most of the pros from different countries, get to watch them live and be totally inspired. One reason most foreigners thinks that we are lucky is…here we don’t have winter (I don’t even know what snowboarding is! Haha!)
Where is your absolute favourite place to ride? I haven’t tried any cable yet but I’m sure we have the best one.
Places you have traveled to for wakeskating: None outside my country, prolly soon.
Favourite Rider: Stef Tor (her kickflip inspired me), Jen Gilanfarr (I definitely agree on most of her thoughts), Nick Taylor (he’s just a good rider with a nice face Haha!), Andy Kolb (same as Nick), Daniel Grant (a 10-year-old boy that threatened big asses on open wakeskate category during Asian competition)
Favourite Animal: puppies (hope they don’t grow up)
Favourite Trick: pop shove it and hitting rails doing boardslide or spins, skateboard tricks on wakeskate, kick flip (my next goal)
Favourite Music: punk and ska
What are some of your best results? Uhmm..toned muscles? Oh, I became friendlier and less rude. RESPETO!
What are your goals for 2009 riding season? Hope to get back in shape asap to be able to compete for world, asian or nationals on whichever wakeskate category
What are some of your thoughts on female wakeskating at the pro level? That is rad! These ladies who stepped up are my inspirations. They had proven that nothing is impossible in this world if we only believe that we could make it happen. They already made it happen. I hope they’ll keep pushing and continue to inspire girls.
What are your future plans with wakeskating? Just enjoy it while I still can. I mean we can’t be young forever. Whether we like it or not our body will soon deteriorate. Maybe if that time comes, I might still be in the wake scene. I planned of making apparels for wake with my own brand. And maybe soon sponsor real committed riders specially girls who will push wakeskating.
What is the steeziest trick you have ever seen? Nick Taylor’s run during 2008 world championship.
Craziest thing you have ever done? Nothing that will amaze anyone but I do a lot of crazy things when I’m drunk and it made good stories in the morning. Hehe! Sorry that’s all that I got.
Props to anyone? First I wanna thank Ally for giving this wonderful opportunity and Jen G for introducing me to Ally though no one introduce us to each other. For my mom who always believes that I got class during weekends though I’m just at the lake most of the time. And also for believing that the injury I got lately was because I was outbalanced on the wet floor though the truth is got it from wakeskating. I thank God my mom doesn’t know how to browse the net. She wouldn’t find out that I was lying all the time for wakeskating.
wassup?!! lol!
Sick!!! Nice kickflip girl!
i spend my life hiding injuries form my mum haha keep it up
