Aussie Pro Tour: Stop 3
Australian Pro Tour of WakeBoarding Stop #3
The Air Nautiques $10 000 prize purse was shared with the Pro Women as they entered the final round in a deadlock for first place also. Last years tour champion Amber Wing was relegated to 3rd place for the year while Melissa Marquadt and Hayley Smith played roulette for the title. In the end Hayley won the day and the belt for her run that had one of the biggest OHH’s we have ever witnessed in women’s wakeboarding in it. Amber wing placed 2nd for the day and Melissa (4th) was left only to cheer from deep in the crowd when Shelbey Kantar took her first step on the Aussie Pro Tour podium in 3rd place after she fought her way back from the L.C.Q. round with a flawless pass and then backed that up in the Women’s final.

Aussie Pro Tour: Stop 2
Australian Pro Tour of Wake Boarding Stop 2
This was the second round of the Air Nautiques Australian Pro Tour of Wakeboarding and took place at Stoney Park in Port Macquarie. Stoney Park, being a dedicated wakeboarding lake, added sliders into the mix for the first time this year and the Super Air Nautique 210 delivered a fault-less wake in the just over 5ft deep lake.
In the Pro Womens division, last weeks runner up Hayley Smith who missed the top spot by .4 of a point last week to the U.S.A.’s Melissa Marquadt, applied her rail park wizardry and edged Melissa out to take the win for the second stop of this years tour. This puts the two of them in dead heat for the title coming into the final round next week. Last years tour champion Amber wing is following very closely in third place and hasn’t ruled out blitzing the girls in stop 3 and claiming back her overall title. Stop 3 is once again a wake only event so it will be down to the wire to see who takes home the tour champions trophy.

Australian Pro Tour: Stop 1
The 2009 Air Nautiques Australian Pro Tour of Wakeboarding kicked off yesterday at the Penrith International Regatta Centre in front of a crowd of more than 40 000 painted and patriotic Aussies . The 2009 tour tow boat was changed to the Super Air Nautique 210 for the first time in 3 years and the official word from the riders is that this was the best individual tour stop in it’s entire history.
It started out with the jr pro women Lauren Bell and Bec Frangi placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the junior women’s category.
The Pro Women’s division also saw last years champion Amber Wing relegated to 3rd position on the podium after Hayley Smith (2nd) conceded the top spot by the smallest margin to the U.S.A’s Melissa Marquadt (1st) in a final that once again elevated the level of women’s wakeboarding and set a strong precedent for the following two Air Nautiques Australian Pro Tour Stops early next month.
