In the summer of 2010 our website is proudly announcing our 2nd annual throwitdown.ca all girls wakeboard tour. The TID Girls Wake Camps are a fun, enthusiastic, learning environment used to introduce girls to the sport of wakeboarding, help lady shredders out there to improve their riding from learning their first air to landing that first tantrum.
Objective: The TID clinic tour was created by Canada’s top female riders with the goal of introducing new female athletes to the sport, and helping these girls to progress their riding by having FUN.
There is something in the air: “I don’t know what it is about girls specific clinics but they are always the most fun times I have on a wakeboard. The environment during a TID clinic is unique and extremely progressive. The girls are all supportive of each other and are not only there to cheer when you stomp a new trick, they are there to pat you on the back when you faceplant 10 times in a row. Having riders at different levels not only helps in their individual progression, it opens their eyes to the potential they can reach on a wakeboard.” – Erika Langman, TID head coach

For those of you who have never tried wakeboarding before; these clinics are a great way to get introduced to this super rad sport. If you’re looking to get some air, clear your first wake, learn some 180s, inverts or dial that trick you have been stuck on for awhile, come on out and get some professional instruction from the girls at TID.
Also… Watch for our upcoming girls ride days! Register online for free rail sets all day long at our TID girls ride days. Grill and Chill, shred some gnar, learn to hit your first rails, get some cool give aways and join our camp out/slumber party! Dates to be announced each spring.
TID Clinic in Bobcaygeon 1
Our first clinic to take place at The Wake Institute in Bobcaygeon was a huge success! The girls arrived bright and early for their yoga warm up on the lawn and then hit the lake. It was a nice sunny weekend and we spent the majority of the day behind the island in the nice calm areas. The girls killed it… landing front side and back side 180s and some girls even attempted their first inverts… props to you! A big special thanks to Buckeye Marine for letting us use their wonderful Mastercraft X2 demo boat, and to Andy Campbell from Definitive Riding Apparel for taking all the photos of our clinic. TID Clinic, Stoney Lake
On July 13th and 14th throwitdown.ca clinics visited a new wake school on Stoney Lake in the Kawarthas called Great Life wakeboard school. This is one of the coolest schools that we’ve had a chance to work with all summer, they run lessons out of a beautiful mastercraft maristar from Buckeye Marine, demo Liquid Force equipment and have some seriously fun rails built in their slider bay. They have a wall ride, stair gap, an incline, rooftop and a C rail. They’ve really put a lot of work into this camp! We met up with super-awesome Great Life wakeboard coach Jenny Kastner and the girls for a day on the boat where we had a variety of different wake sports and skill levels to teach! We had girls just getting up for the first time on a wakeboard, to learning their first heelside wake 2 wake 180s, to wakeskaters and wakesurfers! Everyone learned something new, and although the wind wasn’t on our side… Luckily it’s called Stoney Lake for a reason and we searched all over until we found some nice calm water! Roxy Week at Basecamp
Roxy week has been a week long wakeboard clinic developed for only girls. There are 18 spots available for girls to come, shred and learn from Ontario`s top female shredders like Leslie Sparkes, Kayle McMillin and Laura Duke. All the girls get to stay in your own private cabin totally decorated in Roxy and located on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka. This week has always been a jumping off point for lots of female riders as well as a great way to get introduced to this great sport. You can enjoy wakeboarding, wakeskating and wakesurfing behind our brand new Air Nautiques. Hitting up our private slider lake is also a must, being the largest private slider lake in Canada it is a great place to learn and hone your slider skills. There are only 18 spots available and they fill up quick, so if you are interested in learning to get up or tackling inverts this week is defiantly a must.
